Information on Upcoming AP Exams

Dear Students,

AP testing weeks are coming up!  If you are taking one or more AP exams, please read on.  AP testing occurs the week of May 4, the week of May 11, and late testing May 21-23.  Below is the AP exam schedule for 2015.  The exams generally run 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., and 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Please check the schedule to see when your AP subject exam(s) will be administered.

This is a national testing schedule we are following, and all tests must be administered on these specific dates and at these times, unless there are AP-approved circumstances that prevent a student from doing so.  One of those circumstances is a conflict with two of your exams happening at the same time.  In this case, and there are a few, you would just let me know which exam you would like to take at the scheduled time, and which one you would prefer to take during the late-testing week: May 21-23.

If you are enrolled in an AP class, or have special permission from Mr. Tuleja, an exam is being ordered for you.  It’s important that you are on time for your exam so that you do not miss the opportunity to take it.  Being late or sleeping through an exam is not a circumstance that allows for rescheduling.  You would miss the exam and still have to pay for it.  This is just to emphasize the importance of your prompt attendance and to ensure you have an opportunity to demonstrate all your hard work this year!

Just a few more important notes:

If your afternoon program or sport conflicts with an exam, you must come to the exam, so please communicate with your coach or afternoon program leader. You will be excused from your classes while you are taking an AP exam.  We will give you adequate time to eat lunch before or after your exam as well, but please communicate with your teachers about this as the exam dates approach.

Some of you may have back-to-back exams and may want to bring a heavier snack for the breaks in case you cannot get to lunch.

Stay tuned for information about pre-administration materials you will need to complete prior to the testing weeks, and where and when this will be.  Completing pre-administration materials ahead of time will minimize or eliminate wait time on the day of the exam and enable us to begin the actual exams more promptly.

I will be sending more information to you as the AP exam weeks approach with specifics about what to bring, what not to bring, where your exam will be, and other important information you will need.  In the mean time, rest assured that your teachers are preparing you well for this opportunity and supporting your efforts to do your best!

Field trip to UMass Renaissance Center

On Friday, April 10,  Sarah Klumpp and Sarah Sawyer took their “Williston Scholars:  The Literature and History of the Elizabethan Era” class over to the Massachusetts Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Librarian Jeff Goodhind took the group on a tour of the archives and showed them a working printing press.  Students then spent time researching their independent projects in the library where they were able to use books dating back to the 17th century as well as current scholarly works. Ms. Klumpp notes, “It was great for our students to see how to conduct research at the college level and to experience the energy and enthusiasm of Jeff, who is clearly passionate about his work in Renaissance scholarship.”

Spring Dance Ensemble Auditions

Welcome back, students!

While there is still a noticeable chill in the air, the snow has begun to melt – and we all know what that means…

It’s time for Spring Dance Ensemble AUDITIONS!

I want to invite you to join us for the remainder of the week in the afternoon if you wish to be considered. Movement auditions will be held in the form of a technique class. When participating in a movement class, please wear form-fitting movement clothing that facilitates free range of motion. All meetings will take place in the Dance studio, Reed Center. The schedule for the week is as follows:
