Nancy Corinne Peck Stainbrook of The Carriage Club at Charlotte, NC, formerly of New York City, NY, passed away on December 28th, 2010 after a brief bout of pneumonia.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Richard D. Stainbrook and her sister, Dorcas Allen and parents Mildred E. and Donald T. Peck.
Born November 25, 1924 in New Haven, CT, she graduated from Northampton School for Girls, Smith College and pursued a Graduate degree in Switzerland.
Lindsay Mathewson Collins, 91, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at his home in Elkins, NH. He was born in Springfield, MA in March of 1922 the son of William Oliver and Edna Lindsay Collins. His early schooling was in Westfield, NJ. He earned his BCE at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1947 and an MS in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Lindsay served in the Navy during World War II as an enlisted man and officer doing convoy escort, mine sweeping, and three years in the Pacific with amphibious forces on the USS Rushmore, LSD 14. His professional career was as a municipal engineer in New Jersey and Colorado, as a consulting engineer doing all phases of sanitary and civil engineer’s duties, and as a New Hampshire state employee handling state and federal grants for municipality waste water projects.
Thomas Turner was born on September 2, 1920 and passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013.
Thomas was a resident of Monument, Colorado.
Elaine Todd Thomas Funk (Age 92), of Rockville, MD, passed away on December 24, 2013.
She was born in Northampton, MA in 1921 and graduated from Northampton School for Girls in 1938.
She came to Washington DC in 1945 and worked as a secretary at the Atomic Energy Commission during the Manhattan Project development.
Beloved wife of the late Franklin Harrison Funk; mother of Richard Todd Funk and mother-in-law of Lucy Ann Funk; sister of the late Donald McHardy Ferguson; grandmother of Joy Rebekah Todd Funk, Bethany Christina Funk and Joseph Franklin Funk. Also remembered by Lucy’s mother Antonina Sambuco; Lucy’s siblings Roseanne, Paul, Therese, and Carmel, in addition to many loving family and friends.
Anne M. Forand, of Birmingham, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 29, 2014. She was 83 years old. Anne was born March 9, 1931 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Dr. Louis and Anne (Kerrigan) Miskell.
Anne attended Phillips (Abbott) Academy Andover, Northampton School for Girls and Marymount College of Fordham University. She raised her family in Birmingham and was a member of Holy Name Church. Anne also devoted her time as a school librarian for many years and had a life-long love for sailing, seafood and the water. She will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Forand is survived by her loving son, Dr. Joseph M. (Cathy) Forand, daughter in law, Ruth Gill Forand, and grandchildren, Katy, Amy, and Tracy. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Forand and son, James Forand.
Edward Gray Sexton passed away May 5, 2014. Edward “Ted” Sexton fought renal cell cancer 10 months after first diagnosis. Ted Sexton was born in Chicago, Illinois May 3rd, 1954.
At the age of 14, Ted moved to Gloucester, Massachusetts where he was raised by his Uncle Tom Sexton. It was here that Ted graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1977.
After graduation, he started his career in the restaurant industry. He held the position of training specialist and eventually became General Manager of several corporate restaurants. This took him all over the U.S. Ted had a dream. His dream was to one day open his own restaurant. Little did he know he would far exceed his dream. After opening one of the largest chain restaurants in Colorado Springs, Ted met his now long-time friend, Franco Pisani. The two had similar dreams, and set off as Entrepreneurs to create their own multi-award winning Paravicini’s Italian Bistro in April of 2003.
Ted was a self-made man who overcame much adversity in life. This helped him grow and become an inspiration to others. He was a great mentor to anyone he came across.
Ted married his wife, Tricia in 2002, and they would have celebrated 12 years of marriage on June 3, 2014. He leaves behind his devoted wife ,Tricia Sexton; his two step-sons, Michael and Ross Caldwell; his Aunt Jane Kane; and Uncle Tom Sexton; his 2 brothers, Bill Sexton and Mike Sexton; his sister Debbie Williams. He also leaves behind his best friend, Franco and wife, Lynn along with extended family to include all of his co-workers at Paravicini’s, plus all of the patrons who have made his dream come true.
Priscilla E. (August) Glovsky, age 90, of Newton, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012.

Alexander “Alex” MacDougall MacFarlane III of Brentwood, Tennessee passed away peacefully on May 20, 2014.
Alex was born in Torrington, Connecticut on August 18, 1952. He grew up in Connecticut and spent his early adult life in Bermuda before returning to the United States.
During his life he was an avid reader, skilled guitar player, and patient gardener. Alex enjoyed a diverse range of literature and letters. He was a talented guitar player and spent hours picking at his Ibanez, Martin, and Gibson guitars. His love of nature and green thumb were expressed by growing roses and a large assortment of other flowers in his home garden.
Alex is survived by his wife Elizabeth; his son, Alexander and daughter, Kathryn; his stepmother Jean MacFarlane, his sisters, Jean MacFarlane and Alison MacFarlane-Barnes and husband Ed Barnes, his nephew, Stephen, and niece, Anna, and his brother, Carson Brown. His parents, Alexander MacFarlane Jr., and Kathryn Brown preceded him in death.
The inimitable Sally Zurn Mead passed away suddenly and peacefully, on Saturday June 14, 2014, at her home in Albuquerque, N.M. She left the world on her own terms, just as she lived her life.
Sally was born in Erie on November 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Melvin and Marian Zurn. She enjoyed a childhood of sailing, sports and a wonderful circle of friends. She graduated from The Masters School, class of 1948, and attended Northampton School for Girls. Sally then attended Denison University, and left to be courted by her future husband, James M. Mead. Jim and Sally wed in August of 1953. They enjoyed fifty-one years together, until Jim’s death in 2005.
Sally made many beautiful homes for her family in Charlottesville, Va., Philadelphia, Pa., Princeton, N.J., Washington, D.C., and Albuquerque, N.M. Sally was an accomplished athlete, and particularly enjoyed tennis and golf, becoming tennis champion at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, and golf champion at Springdale Golf Course in Princeton. Sally spent many happy years in her manager position at the Junior League Shop of Washington, D.C.
Charlotte (Hall) Hill, 89, passed away May 20, 2014 of Silver Lake, NH, formerly of Winchester, MA.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Percy H. Hill. Daughter of the late Kenneth and Pauline (Peirce) Hall of Winchester. Charlotte was the youngest of 4 and was predeceased by sisters Nancy Gifford, Katharine Fulton and Margaret Sydney. Dear mother of Mary Ann and her late husband Jonathan Head of Wellesley and of Lisa Teahan and her husband Kevin of Winchester. Sister-in-law of Jack M. Hill of Williamsburg, VA.
Survived by grandchildren Timothy Head and wife Stacey of Boston, Daniel Head and wife Katherine of Wayland, Stephen Head of Brooklyn, NY; Jeremy Holmes, Heather Teahan and Andrew Teahan, all of Winchester; Sara (Teahan) and husband Dan OConnell of Middleborough, MA. Also survived by the Head great grandchildren Meghan, Sadie, Gretchen and Natalie and the OConnell great grandchildren Ella and Mackenzie. Charlotte also has eleven nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond. The quality and length of Charlottes life was extended these last years by her friends and neighbors and most importantly her devoted caregiver Maureen Baptiste.
