Peter Petricca ’42

Peter N. Petricca, 90, a long-time resident of Lenox and Pittsfield, died Sunday June 23, 2013 at his home in Dallas, TX.

He was President and CEO of Petricca Industries, retiring in 1987.

Born November 22, 1922, in North Adams, he was the son of Basilio and Rose Mancusso Petricca. Peter was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1942 post graduate of Williston Academy in Easthampton, MA. Following his service in World War II he attended RPI in Troy, NY earning his Bachelor of Engineering Management degree in 1950.

A veteran of WW II, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and served in the Pacific Theater of Operations from 1943 to 1946.

He was a member of the Young Presidents Organization, World Business Council, and the Transportation Advisory Group of Berkshire County; and served on the Board of Directors of the Berkshire County Development Commission, the Lenox Conservation Commission, Massachusetts Ready Mix Concrete Association, Pittsfield Co-Operative Bank, and the Rensselaer Society of Engineers.

Mr. Petricca had been a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Lenox and Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield. In addition, he was a member of the Country Club of Pittsfield, the Bay State Seniors Golf Association, and the Florida Seniors Golf Association.

His wife, the former Elvira J. Pettinella whom he married on April 7, 1958, died May 28, 1988.

He is survived by his children; Paul D. Petricca and wife Kimberly of Lincolnshire, IL, Ann M. Turbeville and husband Tim of Sandwich, MA, and Peter A. Petricca and wife Laurie of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Zachary and J.P. Petricca, Justin and Ben Turbeville, and Lindsay Petricca; and his two brothers, Basil Petricca and wife Roselyn and Robert Petricca and wife Lyn, all of Pittsfield. He was also pre-deceased by his sister Virginia Petricca in 2000.
