Steven Wang (’20) has qualified for the Mathematical Olympiad Program!
In a Williston FIRST, Sophomore Phenom Steven Wang has qualified for the Mathematical Olympiad Program, a month-long intensive math program at CMU for the top high school math students in the US! Steven qualified for the program by way of his strong score on the USA Math Olympiad.
The 6-member team that represents the United States in the International Mathematical Olympiad is chosen from the students at the MOP.

The results are in and after 5 rounds we’re up to 16th place out of 150 teams!
Special congratulations to Steven Wang for reaching 2nd place out of over 1,000 individual competitors!

League results from the 4th round of the New England Math League have been released and the Williston Math Team has risen to our highest ever placement of 16th out of 125 teams!
Congratulations to Steven Wang and Shirley Zhou for their perfect round 4 scores, and to Steven Wang for currently ranking 2nd in the entire league!
NEML3 2018 Results
The next round of the New England Math League will take place on Thursday, 1/11 from 2:35 to 3:45pm in Schoolhouse 25. The competition lasts 30 minutes and you can begin any time before 3:15pm. Calculator are allowed! Anyone at any level of math is encouraged to participate! Competition content goes through Algebra 2!
After a strong showing on a very challenging 3rd round of the New England Math League, we are holding quite well at 20th out of 150 schools!
Of particular note is that sophomore Steven Wang is currently tied for 3rd out of over 1,100 individual league competitors!

There have been lots of math team events over the last several weeks!
As well as one coming up! The next round of the New England Math League (NEML) will take place on Thursday, 12/14 from 2:35 to 3:45 in Schoolhouse 25. The competition lasts 30 minutes, calculators are allowed, and everyone must begin by 3:15pm. Anyone at any level of math is encouraged to participate! (The highest level content on this competition is Algebra 2.)

10/30/17 Team Meeting
The math team met last night to work on practice problems, come up with ways to promote the team at the Middle School, as well as brainstorm ideas for new team jersey!
The next evening meeting will take place on Monday, November 20th from 6:15 to 7pm in Schoolhouse 25. Anyone at any level of math is welcome to join the team at any time!
