NEML #4 2019

Ji Soo Hwang ’21

We just put up a very strong team score of 26 on the 4th round of the New England Math League! The top scorer on this round was Ji Soo Hwang ’21 with a perfect 6 out of 6!

The 5th round of the New England Math League will take place on Monday, February 11th from 2:30 to 3:45 in Schoolhouse 25. Anyone at any level of math is welcome to compete! No prior experience or registration required. Calculators are allowed. The competition lasts 30 minutes and you must begin by 3:15pm.

The first round of the New England Math League was held earlier this week and the Williston team ended up with a very strong score of 26 out of 30! Congratulations to Ethan Huang ’20 for his perfect score of 6/6! Our top finishers were:

NEML3 2018 Results

The next round of the New England Math League will take place on Thursday, 1/11 from 2:35 to 3:45pm in Schoolhouse 25. The competition lasts 30 minutes and you can begin any time before 3:15pm. Calculator are allowed! Anyone at any level of math is encouraged to participate! Competition content goes through Algebra 2!

After a strong showing on a very challenging 3rd round of the New England Math League, we are holding quite well at 20th out of 150 schools!

Of particular note is that sophomore Steven Wang is currently tied for 3rd out of over 1,100 individual league competitors!

The math team has been busy!

There have been lots of math team events over the last several weeks!

As well as one coming up! The next round of the New England Math League (NEML) will take place on Thursday, 12/14 from 2:35 to 3:45 in Schoolhouse 25. The competition lasts 30 minutes, calculators are allowed, and everyone must begin by 3:15pm. Anyone at any level of math is encouraged to participate! (The highest level content on this competition is Algebra 2.)

On Tuesday, 11/14, 30 middle school students sat for the AMC8 math competition! We’ll get our results in about a month!

On Saturday, 11/11, the team finished 64th out of 110 — our best ever! — at the ultra-competitive Harvard-MIT Math Tournament!

On Tuesday, 10/17, the team finished 7th out of 90 in our first time attending the WPI math competition!
